IELTS

1. The term- International English Language Testing System

2. Why IELTS? IELTS scores are required by academic institutions for the admission process. IELTS is accepted by most Australian, British, Canadian, Irish, New Zealand and South African academic institutions, over 2,000 academic institutions in the U.S , and various professional organizations

3. Who is Eligible? Anyone can write IELTS for two reasons:
    • If a person wishes to pursue graduate or undergraduate course abroad
    • If a person wants to migrate particularly to Canada or Australia.

4. The Cost: 6,500 rps
5. The Version: IELTS has two versions
    • The Academic Version for studies purpose
    • The General Training Version for immigration or non-academic training purposes

6. The Structure: The body of ielts comprises of the following four factors:
    • Listening Module 40 minutes, 30 minutes for which a recording is played centrally and additional 10 minutes for transferring answers onto the OMR answer sheet
    • Reading Module 60 minutes
    • Writing Module 60 minutes.
    • Speaking Module

7. The Score : IELTS is scored on a nine band scale, with each band corresponding to a specified competence in English. The Band Scores are in either whole or half Bands

TOEFL

2. Why TOEFL? It’s an internet based test and is a registered trademark of Educational Testing Service and is administered worldwide. A tofel score is required for a non native speaker at many English Speaking Colleges and universities. A TOEFL score is valid for two years .

3. The Structure: It consists o the following four modules

4. Test Scores
    • Internet-Based Test: The iBT version of the TOEFL test is scored on a scale of 0 to 120 points.
    • Computer-Based Test: Three subscores are obtained, each of which is given on a 0–30 scale: Listening, Structure/Writing (combined), and Reading. These subscores are averaged to obtain the final score, which is on a 0–300 scale
    • Paper-Based Test: The final PBT score ranges between 310 and 677 and is based on three subscores: Listening (31–68), Structure (31–68), and Reading (31–67). Unlike the CBT, the score of the Writing section (referred to as the Test of Written English, TWE) is not part of the final score; instead, it is reported separately on a scale of 0–6

GMAT

1. The Term -The Graduate Management Admission Test

2. Why GMAT? It is a pre-requisite for those who are planning for business studies and is one of the key selection criteria for getting into an MBA program. The scores are valid worldwide.

3. The Structure:
    • The exam measures verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills
    • The score is valid until 5 years

    • The score is valid until 5 years 4. Cost: the fee to take the test is U.S. $250 worldwide
5. Total Score: It consists of quantitative and verbal section which ranges from 200 to 800.(score)
